Hello All,
This post is just to update you all about the details we have thus far on the roofing project. The scaffolding is officially together and is being used to access the building from the outside. There should be minimal access to the roof from the inside going forward.
At this time, the marble on top of the roof on the EUC side closest to the Jarrell Hall entrance is the current workplace. Since work will be taking place on the edge of the building there is orange fencing wrapped around the building connecting to the metal fencing material area for safety. I have gotten multiple questions about the fencing so please feel free to pass that information along to other library users. In addition, please be aware of all the activity in the loading dock area in relation to parking. This area will have heavy traffic throughout this project and might not be the best place to park at this time. If you or anyone else you know regularly park out back please be careful and keep watch on your vehicle.
Lastly, the noise level in the building has gone up with the start of this project. Unfortunately, it will be noisy throughout the project. Removing the roof and marble requires a lot of heavy-duty equipment which is the cause of the noise. I know the noise can be disturbing but please bare with us.
